Privacy Policy
PLURpulse is run by MVP2 Fitness Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect in the PLURpulse App, why, who sees it and what you can do about it. We never sell your personal information.
1. What We Collect
- Account details: your name, contact information and profile photo.
- Fitness information you choose to add: date of birth, sex, height, weight, measurements, progress photos, workouts, exercise and food logs, habits, and any form answers you give us.
- Your photo answer: whether you said yes or no to the use of your photos in our marketing, and when, and any reward you received for it.
- What you write, make or share: messages with friends, community posts and comments, Kandi you make, give or trade, recipes and workouts you share, entries in draws or competitions, and suggestions or questions you send us.
- Points and activity: your points, level, rewards and Kandi supplies, and how many posts, comments and reactions you have made.
- If you report a problem: what you write, up to 3 screenshots you choose to attach, the date, whether you use an iPhone, Android or the web, the App's version and build, and your phone's model and software version.
- If you join through a sign-up link: which link you used and who shared it.
- From your phone, only when you allow it: camera, photo library, microphone and notifications. Speech is turned into text on your phone and only the text is sent. If you allow notifications, we keep an address for your phone so that they can reach it. We do not collect your location, contacts or data from health apps, and we do not use advertising or tracking tools.
2. Why We Collect
To run the App and its community, track your progress, run points, Kandi, draws and rewards, answer your questions and keep the App secure. Problem reports are used only to find and fix problems in the App. We may email you news and offers about PLURpulse while you have an account and for 2 years after it is closed, unless you unsubscribe. Every offer email names PLURpulse and MVP2 Fitness Inc., gives our contact details and has an unsubscribe link, and we act on an unsubscribe within 10 business days. We use progress photos and results in marketing only if you say yes on the photo permission screen in the App, as set out in the photo release in our Terms of Use.
3. Who Can See What We Collect
You, and the head coaches and administrators of PLURpulse, who can see what is needed to moderate the community, run draws and rewards, and help you. Our coaches take part in the community like members: as your friend, a coach sees what any friend sees. Other members see what you post in the community, your profile photo, your display name (or your first name and the first letter of your last name), the month you joined, your points, level and place on the leaderboard, Kandi you give them or show on your profile, and how many posts, comments and reactions you have made. They also see the total weight you have lifted, unless you turn that off in Settings. If you enter a competition, other members see your entry, how many votes it has and where it placed. Nobody sees who voted. Draw winners may be announced by display name. Friends you add see the messages you send them and anything you share with them. The person who shared a sign-up link sees how many people joined through it. Problem reports and their screenshots are seen only by PLURpulse's head coaches and administrators, and by us. Screenshots are kept in private storage.
4. AI-enabled tools
If you log food with a description, a photo, or a photo of a food label, that text or photo is sent to an AI-enabled service that may be located outside your home province (or state) or country, to estimate the nutrition. Nothing else about you is sent with it. The App asks your permission before this is used. Saying no does not affect the rest of the App, and you can change your answer in the App at any time.
5. Companies that help us run the App
Your account records, photos and messages are stored in Canada by our cloud infrastructure service provider, which may be a foreign company. A few service providers handle information for us, some of them outside Canada: our AI service (United States), our web hosting provider (United States), our email service (United States), and a backup storage provider that keeps copies of photos and files in Canada. Some app functions may briefly process a request in the United States without storing it there. You can ask our privacy contact for more information about our service providers outside Canada. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We and they protect it with reasonable security measures, including encryption when it is stored and when it is sent. Information handled in the United States is subject to the laws of that country. Food databases receive only a barcode or a food name, never anything about you. Notifications reach your phone through the notification service of Apple or Google (United States). A notification says only that something new is waiting and who it is from. It never contains the words of a message. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings at any time.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete a message, it is removed from the App for everyone in that conversation. If you edit one, the new wording replaces the old. In both cases we keep a copy of the original in our records while your account is open and for 2 years after that, in case of a dispute. Nobody can open these copies in the App. If you delete your account in Settings, we delete your profile, workouts, food logs, progress photos, messages, Kandi, points, form answers and problem reports with their screenshots from the App, and every copy, including backups, within 30 days. We keep the original copies of deleted or edited messages until 2 years after your account is closed, then delete them. We keep, for 3 years after your account is closed, or longer if needed for a claim, the record that you accepted our documents, and records of draw entries and prizes. Marketing published under the photo release may also stay up.
7. Your choices
You can see and correct your information in the App, delete your account in Settings, or contact us to ask what we hold, to withdraw a consent or to make a complaint. You may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
8. Age
The App is for adults 18 and older.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, the App will ask you to accept the new version.
